It is going to be a difficult thing, for a great number of people, to be able to draw something deep within their souls, and find solace.

The tragic events that took place last week when the ground shook in Sichuan, China, made us all uncomfortable. That said, the discomfort that you feel from watching the news unfold half way across the planet is at a world’s difference, to standing in the rubble to the sound of wailing, the hopelessness and the shock, the anger and the grief.

That is if you’re one of the lucky ones not buried in the ruins of what you thought would protect you from nature. And if you’re still breathing.

I may sound calm when I’m writing this, but I can tell you I’m not in front of a dry keyboard. The journey of self-discovery about dealing with losing lives, losing friends and family, is all too sad and all too difficult; unfortunately for many people, this is also all too real and all too sudden.

‘May god bless those in the disaster area.’
‘Let us all set our political and cultural differences aside and do our best to save our fellow human beings.’

A friend of the ThinkingCactus team made this video, which we hope people will see, and hopefully help in some way.

We offer our most sincere condolences, for the victims of the recent earth quake in China.
