Animatu, the international digital animation festival based in Portugal, is a relatively prestigious panel-judged animation festival for the machinima community. So it was a great joy to get an email from our good friend Phil Rice (aka Overman), with a big ‘YAY’ telling us that he took home the top prize in the machinima category [...]

Many of you no doubt already know ZenCub3d’s development have slowed, and
probably many of you noticed that we’ve been promoting Voovees.com. The cleverest among you have asked us whether the development of ZenCub3d and Voovees.com are actually linked, and finally, we can confirm this to you with a big fat, YES.
As you’re no doubt aware [...]

About 12hours left for our very first Pick-Up Line Competition to draw to a close, the competition itself is getting exciting.
Our frequent users ‘redoptick‘ is probably the user that made the most number of pickup-lines (professional pickup artist?), who even made a 4 part series within those entries. Ah, always entertaining.
We have over 70 entries [...]

It wasn’t just a few days ago our twilight parody competition ended that we started another competition on voovees.com, this time it’s our first Pick-up Line Competition.

voovees.com, where you as a user can replace existing dialogues from various animations, and add your own twists to it.
Following the philosophy among tech startups that, “Release Early, Release Often“, “if you‘re not embarrassed by the first release of your product, [...]

Just got an email today that our parking warden video is now in the finals of the machinima category (somewhere down this list). We’ve only submitted the video to BitFilm and Animatu, so that’s 2 for 2 nominations.
Not too bad. Up against some stiff competitions though.
Don’t think we have the money to attend this festival [...]

Well, ok, maybe not that shocking or horrifying. But still pretty bad.
Over the last few weeks there’s an excitement in the air, and much of that is due to the imminent global launch of the iPhone 3G. Not much else needs be said about this device really so I won’t do an intro here, even [...]

We got a nice surprise in the mail today, from the United Ancient Order of Filmheads (aka 48Hours film organisers).
We won Best Animation for “Bite Sized Love” (see it in our earlier post) for the 48Hours Furious Filmmaking Challenge (I suspect it’s the regional award), so if you’re in New Zealand you might be able [...]
